Time Off?


In America, these 7 are the only “paid days off”:
New Years Day
Memorial Day (Monday)
July 4 – Independence Day
Labor Day (which Europe also is closed for)
Thanksgiving (Thursday)
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Day


In other parts of the world, employees get those PLUS these extra ones:

Dec 31 & Jan 1: Shanghai Office will be closed on both Monday December 31 & Tuesday January 1, 2019.

Nov 6: Singapore Office will be closed for Deepavali.

Nov 1: Europe will be closed in observance of All Saints' Day.

Oct 17: Hong Kong office will be closed in observance of Chung Yeung Festival.

Oct 3: Dusseldorf will be closed in observance of Day of German Unity.

Oct 1 – 7: Shanghai Office will be exceptionally open on Saturday September 29th and September 30th but closed from October 1 to 7 in celebration of National China Days.

Sept 25: Hong Kong Office will be closed for Mid-Autumn Moon Festival.

Sept 6: Geneva will be closed in observance of Geneva Fasting Day.

August 22: Singapore Office will be closed for Hari Raya Haji.

August 15: Paris Salon will be closed in observance of Assumption day.

August 9: Singapore Office will be closed for National Day.

August 1: Geneva will be closed in observance of Swiss National Day.

June 18: Shanghai and Hong Kong will be closed for the Dragon Boat Festival.

Jun 5: Singapore Office will be closed on Wednesday for Hari Raya Puasa.

May 30: Geneva and Zurich Salon will be closed in observance of Ascension Day.

May 27: London closed for a UK bank holiday.

May 21: Zurich will be closed in observance of Whit Monday.

May 20: Singapore Office will be closed for Vesak Day.

May 13: Hong Kong office will be exceptionally closed in observance of the Birthday of the Buddha.

May 9: Russian offices closed for a National Holiday.

May 6: London closed for a UK bank holiday.

April 19 and Monday April 22: Hong Kong and Europe closed for Good Friday and Monday after Easter.

April 19: Singapore office will be closed for Good Friday.

April 5: Shanghai and Hong Kong offices will be closed in observance of Tomb-Sweeping Day.

End of April to Beginning of May: Golden Week vacation Japan offices will be closed for a collection of public holidays.

Feb 28 and March 4: Dusseldorf will be closed in observance of Women Carnival´s Day and Carnival Monday.

First week in February: Shanghai and Hong Kong closed to celebrate Lunar New Year.




If you sum it up, Singapore gets 6 extra days than USA.
Cities in communist China get 21 extra days.



America is advertised to the world as “Land of Free”, but it doesn’t seem like Americans get much free time.
