Lewis and I took the MetroNorth Railroad and were appalled by the permissible FILTH on HUNDREDS of seats and headrests! New York City is the wealthiest city in the USA. Why are its trains deplorable like a third-world country?
Costing $40 for each of our round-trip tickets, it was disgusting that the MTA (Metropolitan Transit Authority) allows such grime to touch passengers' heads. Third-world countries have cleaner seats! Asian trains use replaceable headrest covers. European, Chinese, and Japanese people would not tolerate this.
For their high prices, riders deserve better quality! Who wants to rest their head on a filthy seat for an hour? For that much grease/gunk to accumulate proves that the seats weren't cleaned in years! They are all like that.
Despite ignoring their jobs, employees of the MetroNorth--and the equally-disgusting Long Island Railroad (the wealthiest monopoly in the USA)--are grossly overpaid...
...yet they do not fix these issues.
Crazily, there are still some trains being used from the 1970s! Their dilapidated seats are ripped/torn and taped.
The train route that we used takes wealthy VIPs from Scarsdale and White Plains to their jobs in Manhattan. Those ticket-buyers--who spend hundreds of dollars on hair treatments--let their scalps and follicles touch filth (sometimes rubbing the grime off the seat). That is a typical apathetic American style.
That's how NYC's corrupt transit workers treat their monopolized passengers. The riders are "sheep" for not demanding improvement.
