Easter occurred at St. Thomas Episcopal Fifth Ave, replete big hats, big bouquets, and ushers in morning coats.
Lewis and I brunched at Crescent Grill.
A farm-to-table restaurant with a cozy-yet-edgy interior,
they also provided us with complimentary car service to/from my apartment.
We invited Patrick, Yvonne, and Gordon to join us. Gordon brought his Texan friend, Olivia (who was visiting to pitch her dating app on the TV show "Shark Tank").
Colorfully attired, we savored a bright brunch!
Their savory biscuits and creamery-fresh butter were perfect!
My salmon Eggs Benedict were delectable, as were the Duck Barley, Steak & Eggs, Duck sausage, crispy planks of bacon, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and "$20 bottomless drinks": Bellinis, Mimosas, Sangria, and Bloody Marys.. which were our favorite. A Bloody Mary is named for England's Queen Mary Tudor who began her reign in 1553. As a follower of Roman Catholicism (which was intolerant of other religions), she massacred non-believers. Lewis sipped a bourbon mint iced tea.
Afterwards, Yvonne and Patrick walked home, escorting Olivia to Birch Coffee. Lewis visited his grandmother in Manhattan. Gordon wanted to see the Noguchi sculpture Museum, and I gladly took him.
Gordon loved visiting Astoria again, and as he returned to the Upper East Side, I strolled home and awaited Lewis for our Easter finale!
