Top 100 Places To Work

This month's Fortune magazine listed employers that offered perks of Life/Work Balance and Employee Retention.  It is contrary to NYC's attitude of "Workers are plentiful so treat them like disposable harvest laborers".  Here are the perks for the Top 100 places to work:

-Summer company picnic.
-Anti-burnout strategy.
-Teaming and Open Communication programs.
-Yoga.
-Massage therapists in the workplace 3 times per week.
-On-site Wellness Coach.
-Thousands of dollars reimbursement for employee home improvements.
-On-site Childcare.
-Bonuses related to tenure.
-"Industry leading" wages!
-100% company-paid insurance premiums.
-Part-time employees have access to full medical benefits.
-40% matching 401k contributions.
-Company bought iPads for each of its 1,200 employees (from mailroom to executives), so it had a tech-savvy staff.
-6 extra paid vacation days for Volunteering.
-Revenue generating ideas from employees enter them in a raffle for paid vacations.
-Employees who leave and return within 5 years retain seniority and benefits.
-Student tuition reimbursement of $10,000.
-4 week paid vacation (unlike most of America and more like the rest of the world).
-10% paid company-time to work on personal projects.
-Month-long "Recharging sabbaticals" (company-paid)!
-On-site Medical Clinic with registered nurses and physician.
-$10,000 reimbursement for child adoption.
-Awareness and Empathy workshops.
-Full benefits for employees working at least 20 hours/week.
-End of year off-site company party.

The aforementioned offerings contribute to those companies having a mere 6% turnover rate!  Additionally, the employees work with die-hard loyalty and positive spirits.

Obviously, Google and St. Jude's Hospital rated high in the list.  Sadly, only 2 companies of those 100 were in NYC!  Clearly, NYC does not encourage positive behavior in businesses.  Even sadder for most cases, very few job openings were available in those 100 companies.  I hope the article inspires other employers to mimic those successful strategies... and hire me!
