Today is April Fool's Day, and it reminded me of the "joke" played on working people... or that we're all fools for staying in our ruts...
In 1951, milk cost $0.92. Post cereal cost $0.15. A Ford car cost $2,253.
In 2016, milk cost $3.86 (a 320% increase). Post cereal cost $3.41 (a 2,173% increase). A Ford costs $22,000 (a 876% increase).
In 1951, panelists for the new TV show "What's My Line" (a panel of writers, poets, intellectuals guessed people's professions) made a salary of $300 per week. (for just sitting on a panel, once a week).
In 2016, luxury retail salesmen make salary of $500 per week (a mere 66% percent increase).
Look how far we've come in 65 years! NOT! Where is the equality?
