A Refund On Trees?

In ADDITION to paying all their city taxes, city fees, and local exaction, the business community raised EXTRA money to plant trees along their streets (since the city didn't do it).  Unfortunately, during the winter, the tax-paid city gov't used cheap chemical road salt that poisoned them.  Refund?

As a kid, I never saw winter salt killing "greenery".  Must be those new chemicals--used to make it cheaper.  Perhaps, another method is better (like below)?

  1. OMG I never noticed that. Well, grass is useless for environmental reasons but people should get a refund or the city needs to plant extra trees! And salt, just destroys the soil so nothing grows thereafter; like how sailors salted their fish back in the day.
