Videos of Two Great Speeches Relevant to Today

Coincidentally, two friends shared these videos on Facebook today.  They seem pertinent to current events.  After all, Life is a cycle, and the pendulum of humanity swings back and forth.  These videos are a MUST SEE:

That HBO television show was written by the same folks who created "The West Wing", about pro-America idealism and upstanding politics.  After disillusionment / disgust with America's politics & policies, they abandoned "West Wing" and created "The Newsroom", a whistleblower to wake up America's citizenry.  Sadly, not much has improved.

Charlie Chaplin's most successful film (1940).  It was nominated for 5 Academy Awards.  Alas, despite his warning, he saw society fall from grace--specifically America's!  Watching America fight for freedom to overturn fascism during World War II, and watching it gain so much potential for a great future... he was distraught to see post-war America implode from industrial monopolies, corruption, greed, commercialism, unbridled financial trickery, and McCarthy-era "witch hunts".  In 1957, Chaplin made another satire film, "A King In New York", to complain about it.  Like the cartoon Charlie Brown bemoaning Christmas commercialism, or like Dr. Seuss bemoaning endangered values of humankind... the movies try to wake everybody up to reality.  Sadly, in America, it fell on uncaring minds.
