Useful Advice to Commence the Year

1. Foster the habit of curiosity and the lifelong love of learning.

2. Value artistic pursuits: see a play, a gallery and a concert.

3. Believe in truth & empathy, ergo reacting appropriately.

4. Take responsibility for your life.  

5. Maintain a sense of humor for a harmonious life.

6. Enrich yourself by understanding other cultures.

7. Appreciate differences in people.

8. Uphold the moral imperative to have an opinion on the events & decisions that shape our world.

9. Listen with an open mind.

10. Be compassionate and generous.

11. Question your beliefs.

12. Do something nice--and unexpected.

13. Don't purposely provoke people.

14. Reconnect with your inner self, not just investing all your time & energy in making other people happy.  

15. For a Zen moment, do some things by and for yourself.

16. Exercise and keep limber; it's an outer manifestation of your inside.

17. Break your bad habits.

18. Pursue the making of new friends.

19. Reply to people when you say that you will; keep your word.

20. Every day shan't have sunshine, but at each beginning, do your best.

21. You have agreements that make you suffer, that make you fail at life.  If you want to live a life of joy and fulfillment, find the courage to break those agreements that are fear-based.  Claim your personal power.  The agreements that come from fear require you to expend a lot of energy, but those coming from love will help you conserve energy and even gain some.

22. Do not always adjust for other people's bad habits.

23. Unclutter your home; improve its feng shui.

24. Stay positive-minded no matter what negative is around you.

25. Read more and watch less television/videos.

26. Buy your first income property!

27. Ego says "Once everything falls into place, I'll feel peace." Spirit says "Find your peace, then everything will fall into place."

28. Don't be overwhelmed at work that you can't be a good person.  Be unstoppable to the things that get in your way.

29. Be less selfish and "pay if forward" every day.

30. Expand your comfort zones.

31. Rest when your body tells you to, but don't be lazy.

32. Simplify your life to avoid exhaustion.  

33. Don't regret the Past or stress about the Future.  Just focus on the Present and do what's "good & right".
